Clarity Through Cancer: Serving a Greater Purpose.

You hear the story of Alisha yet? One of the most inspiring stories experienced in real time is the story of MDC member Alisha. Alisha served the community and gave herself fully to a line of work that ain’t for the weak. For 13 years Alisha clocked in, sometimes excited, sometimes tired, sometimes overworked, sometimes hopeful of the changes that would be made through the light she exuded to the people she encountered while on the job.

Alisha was prepared for a lot of things but absolutely nothing could have prepared her for the chapter that abruptly followed her life as a cop. Luckily for us she shares in great detail in her book Code 2-7 Out of Service, the emotion behind finding out how someone deemed as healthy by looks experienced cancer and finding out in stage 3 at the time of dianosis. Talk about a turn of events!


Luckily for us, several news stations have covered her story from the beginning to most recently where we learned that she not only overcame the diagnosis and now lives cancer free but she went even further to become a wellness coach AND a licensed therapist!

Alisha’s story is a true testament to what can be accomplished when you stand up for yourself, do your research, and trust and believe that you will make it out of a tough situation. Our struggles only makes us stronger enough so that we can help the next person through what we’ve already conquered.
